How the AT&T tower search works
Select AT&T and tap Find towers near me, or search a ZIP code, to list the AT&T towers near you. Every site where AT&T is named in FCC records appears with its distance, compass bearing, structure type, height and owner. The dial puts the nearest nine around you, so you can tell at a glance whether the closest AT&T site is north across town or just down the road.
AT&T's wireless licences are held under names such as AT&T Mobility and New Cingular Wireless PCS, the company formed when Cingular Wireless took over AT&T Wireless in 2004 and later became today's AT&T. Both count as AT&T here. 6,695 registered sites nationwide carry an AT&T name in the current data.
Where the AT&T tags come from
AT&T still holds 850 MHz cellular licences in many markets, and those licences list each transmitter site, often with the FCC registration number of the tower it sits on. That link is how a tower owned by someone else can still carry an AT&T tag in the list. The rest of AT&T's spectrum, including 700 MHz, PCS, AWS and the C-band and 3.45 GHz bands it uses for 5G, is licensed by area and gives no site list.
One name you will see often is CCATT LLC. It is the Crown Castle company that took over thousands of AT&T's towers in a 2013 deal. AT&T still leases space on most of them, but the owner is Crown Castle, so the finder does not tag them as AT&T. If you are near a CCATT tower, AT&T antennas on it are likely.

Better AT&T signal at home
If the nearest AT&T site is several miles away, weak indoor signal is expected, especially on the higher bands that carry 5G. Two free fixes come first: turn on Wi-Fi calling, and try the room or window that faces the bearing shown for the nearest site. A signal booster, if you buy one, works best when its outside antenna points at a specific site; the bearing in degrees is what you aim with.

Cellular licence sites without a tower number
Some AT&T results say Cellular licence site instead of an ASR number. Those are transmitters listed on AT&T's cellular licences that are too short to need FCC tower registration, usually under 200 feet and away from airports. They are often monopoles, rooftop antennas or water tanks. Their location comes from the licence, and the height shown is the antenna height the licence records.
